Service Manager
Whirr Crew is looking for a Poland-based Service Manager for our client in logistics domain. The Service Manager is a leadership role that is responsible for translating the business needs of the client into an actionable vision for the support team to deliver. They are responsible for establishing current, transition, and future state architectures that align to the business objective roadmap. This resource can be macro (strategic) or micro (tactical) in their approach to programs, adapt quickly to the changing environment, and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations. The resource will be responsible for the support and managed service of several systems and manage the tickets and issues raised. Their depth and breadth of knowledge allows them to contribute at various levels of program execution with examples including; strategic advisory, business and technical design, infrastructure strategy, development strategy, database modeling, and many more. A Service Manager is expected to be a champion of proper configuration, program, change, and incident management processes. Working in tandem with senior leadership and program leadership, this individual will provide the broad technical vision and help drive process adoption throughout delivery cycles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contributes to the definition of enterprise roadmaps for clients
Able to interact in discussions related to physical data, business processes, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and integration modeling
Engages in governance committees, review boards, and strategic project support
Creates prototypes to test new technology
Define and support the tools, methodology, and processes to be leveraged by the project teams
Understands the need to balance delivery against the business appetite for change and the maturity of an organization, along with the resource capability and budgetary constraints of the program
Able to establish metrics for system performance evaluation
Serve as a bridge between the business, senior leadership, support, functional team members, and technical team members across all work streams
Support account feasibility and discovery studies
Manage the transformation of requirements into architectural roadmaps
Establish, develop, and maintain strong business relationships with clients
Provide cost estimates to clients
Understand client’s internal capabilities and give input on strategy.
Create agendas, schedule and lead meetings independently, take minutes, manage follow-up action items
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
10+ years of experience as an IT and retail
6+ years of experience in a service manager role
Motivated and process oriented critical thinker who is adept at negotiation, business process, and can provide an enterprise architecture vision
Adept at handling conflict and making non-biased decisions
Strong knowledge of continuous delivery, along with understanding of Cloud architecture required
Professional approach when dealing with internal and external customers, including clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated expertise in consulting and retail
Available to travel to Poland on a weekly basis – although some work will be offsite
Strong written and verbal English skills required
Polish language – native/fluent
Oracle Retail experience
